The United Center sports & concert venue

The United Center is located at 1901 W. Madison Street. This is where you have to go to see a Chicago Bulls basketball or Chicago Blackhawks hockey home game. In addition to the NBA and NHL professional sports teams, the University of Illinois basketball team, the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament, the Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament (hosted six times with a seventh scheduled for 2007), and the Great Eight Classic also happen here at united Center.

The United Center is also a great venue to see a concert. Two of the best bands I’ve seen live have played here: Dave Matthews Band and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Other famous acts that have come to the United Center include The Smashing Pumpkins, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, U2, The Who, Madonna, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, and Pearl Jam. If you prefer classical music, The Three Tenors played here.

Other entertainment at the United Center has included Cirque du Soleil, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus and Disney on Ice. In 1994, The United Center hosted the World Wrestling Federation (WWF but now the WWE) SummerSlam in 1994.
