Chicago Cubs MLB Baseball

The Chicago Cubs play ball in the famous Wrigley Field in located in the residential neighborhood of Lakeview. Wrigley Field is a tourist atraction all by itself, so I recommend trying to catch a Cubs game while you’re on vacation in Chicago.

During games, Cub fans not in the stadium stand on Waveland Avenue, hoping to catch balls when home runs are hit out of the park. True Cubs fans are obligated to throw homerun balls hit by opposing players back onto the field, but we travelers can take the ball home as a souvenir.

The Cubs are trying hard to put together an entertaining team. Aramis Ramírez is an exciting slugger and the Cubs just added Alfonso Soriano, one of the best hitters in baseball. Hopefully you’ll be rewarded with a few home runs when you attend your Cubs game.

The Chicago Cubs are descended from the Chichago Whitestockings who were part of the first professional baseball league, the National Association, which formed in 1871. In 1875, the Chicago Whitestockings pesident, William Ambrose Hulbert, helped create the National League. The Cubs are still members of the National League today.
