Chicago Bears football

During the 2005-2006 season the Bears surprised nearly everyone and became one of the elite teams in the NFL. They did it the old fashioned way using very tough defense and a running game to win games. Now in the 2006-2007 season the bears are off to an impressive start and have added a passing game to make their offense more versatile. However, it’s still the defense and particularly middle linebacker Brian Urlacher that fans come to see at Soldier Field.

Today the Chicago Bears team is strong, but the current stars don’t compare to some of the famous Bears of the past. It’s a long past as well; the Bears were founded in 1919 and have been in Chicago since 1921.

Current Bears running backs Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson usually get the job done but the Bears have a rich tradition at running back thanks to Gale Sayers and Walter Payton. Urlacher is a star linebacker and this is another position where the Bears have a strong past as Mike Singletary and Dick Butkus were among the top linebackers in NFL history.

If possible, the matchup to see is the Bears vs. the Green Bay Packers as these teams have a very strong rivalry.
